The New Haven Harbor Watershed Urban Wildlife Refuge Partnership has created a network of demonstration gardens and restoration sites throughout New Haven.
Demonstration schoolyard habitat gardens have established at three public schools. The gardens include native trees and shrubs and native pollinator-friendly perennial plants.
Habitat restoration has begun at three City parks. Non-native invasive plants have been removed from areas in the parks and native wildlife-friendly trees and shrubs have been planted.
Plans include additional schoolyard habitat gardens, additional habitat restoration at the three parks, and restoration at two additional parks.
